Description
2” pot. Den macrophyllum is a New Guinea species that blooms in spring and summer with sprays of fragrant, long-lasting yellow flowers with purple striped markings on the lip and prominent hairs or “spikes” on the backs of the sepals. Den spectabile is a species from Papua and New Guinea that bl.ooms in fall. The green-yellow flowers of this species are twisted and marked with brown and purple stripes. Both of these species grow medium- to large-sized, and are relatively temperature-tolerant, so this primary hybrid should be large, too. The main photo shows Den spectabile; the gallery photo shows Den macrophyllum. Young seedlings.
