Because of a large number of orders and limited help packing, there may be delays in shipping your order. We are currently shipping t least twice a week, on Mondays to arrive on Wednesday-Thursday, and on Saturdays to arrive on Monday-Tuesday. We fill orders in the sequence received so, depending on the size of the queue, your plants may not ship for 5-10 days following receipt of your order. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we try to get through this strange time.
If there are geographic regions in which a significant number of customers have had problems with non-delivery of packages, we may have to put these regions on hiatus until further notice. I am sorry that we have to do this, but we cannot continue to ship plants to a region where delivery is unreliable.
Most things in the US are shut down, including all spring orchid shows, but the plants keep on growing. Our growing facility is in a secluded semi-rural area, with access currently limited to our family and one person who helps with packing. The best estimate is that the virus can only live for 2-3 days on a surface, so there should be no reason to worry about anything being transmitted from the Seattle area because USPS priority mail takes that long to be delivered. If you are worried about contamination during handling in the USPS system, you might want to designate a “quarantine area” for any packages or goods you receive from any source via any carrier. Maybe the best course of action is to take reasonable precautions, but carry on normally to the extent possible.
