Description

Spanish moss (Tillandsia usneoides) is a wonderful companion to orchids, especially those that grow in baskets with exposed roots. It protects the roots and helps retain moisture near the plants. In nature, Spanish moss is an epiphyte that grows on large trees, forming dense curtains of grayish-green vegetation. It requires nothing more than being draped over the site where it is to grow and an occasional spraying with water. It will reward you with vigorous growth, tiny yellow-green flowers and a beautiful contrast with your orchid plants. Good-size clump of live Spanish moss.
