Description

2” pot. Neofinetia is now also called “Vanda” falcata. It is a small epiphytic species native to Japan, where many different varieties are cultivated. Grows as a single stem (monopodial) that continues to elongate as it produces new leaves. Eventually, the plant will produce many additional growths from the base and form a clump. Flowers arise from the sides of the plant, with each growth continuing to produce flower spikes throughout its lifetime. The fragrant flowers are usually white, with a prominent nectar spur. Papilionanthe hookeriana is an unusual species native to Southeast Asia. It has thin, terete leaves and blooms in spring or summer with pink flowers with broad lips heavily spotted with maroon. This should be an interesting cross! Young seedlings.
