Description
2″ pot. Den heterocarpum is a Southeast Asian species that typically blooms in spring from canes that have lost their leaves over the winter, but may bloom at any time of year. Fragrant flowers are white and attractively shaped, with a yellow throat, arising from the sides of the canes. Hardy plants do best with a cool winter rest. Oriental Gem is a nobile-type hybrid that blooms with large, full-shaped, bright pink flowers with a yellow lip and dark burgundy in the throat. Both parents are at least slightly fragrant. This should be a very interesting cross, and probably easy to grow.
